Grant Berg

Grant has been a champion for a better quality of life in Grande Prairie for over 34 years. He has been a small business owner in the city Centre for the past nine years in Grande Prairie. Twenty-eight years ago Grant married a local girl. He and his wife Rhonda have two adult children that still live in Grande Prairie. He is also a former broadcast professional having worked for 29 years in the broadcast industry holding every position from radio announcer to sales and marketing at Big Country 93.1 and later launching 2Day FM as it’s General Manager. Grant has volunteered for many organizations that build quality of life and is a passionate community advocate.

When Grant moved to Grande Prairie in 1991, there was not a lot to do after work and wondered why someone didn’t do something about that? From that moment Grant decided that he would be someone who would work to build community and quality of life. Grant has volunteered for organizations like the Grande Prairie Storm, Grande Prairie Stompede, Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, The Arts Advocacy Committee at GPRC and Grande Prairie’s Downtown Association among others. Grant has also sat on a number of provincial boards and committees such as the Premier’s Council on Culture under four different Premiers and the Alberta Society of Artists.
